Friday Morning Videos: Refrigerator Organization (simple + cheap!)

Recently we found a stash of videos that talk about techniques for refrigerator organizing. This video features some good organization idea, but it also contains a factual error. At about 1:15 the presenter makes the comment that the back of the top shelf is the coldest spot in the refrigerator. She is only half right. The rear of the refrigerator IS usually cooler. HOWEVER, heat rises so it is the back of the BOTTOM shelf that is the coolest. That said, we hope you like the video and some kitchen organization ideas.

Friday Morning Videos: The Secret Life of Machines- The Washing Machine

The Secret Life Of Machines is a British series that looks at the development and workings of every day objects. This episode covers the washing machine, the history is obviously British-oriented. Still the program offers an interesting look, with examples, explaining many common appliance parts such as timers and solenoids.

Friday Morning Videos: Basic Electricity Demonstrated on the Hoary Cliffs of Moher

Here is a short video from one of our favorite YouTuber's, the Appliance Samurai. He posted this short vacation video from Ireland where he demonstrates basic electric principles, such as voltage and current path, using an electric fence. Wind noise is a little rough, but the scenery is nice and the educational value is valid.

If you are looking for training in the exciting world of appliance repair, the Appliance Samurai offers it. He is an active USA member as well. You can check out his website HERE.

Friday Morning Videos: A Tiny Breakfast

Have you ever heard of Kawaii cooking? It started in Japan and then spread throughout the world, primarily via YouTube videos. The style of cooking is to make tiny reproductions of full sized food, todays examples do that on a functional dollhouse, candle powered, range. I have two videos to share with you today that use the technique. First we have a simple bacon and egg breakfast, then we follow that with the incredibly elaborate Thanksgiving dinner. If you decide to try Kawaii cooking yourself we would love to see what kind of creations you come up with.

Friday Morning Videos: Santa's Helpers

A lot of people like to get in the Christmas spirit by watching the classic stop motion animated special "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer". Did you know, when the series first aired, it only had one sponsor? All the ads were for the same brand. That brand was one we all know and love: GE. These are counter top appliances and not the white goods we love the best. Still, it is fun to watch as GE's appliances were shown off by the animated elves from the special. I hope you enjoy it.
